{"id":448,"date":"2017-12-17T19:16:22","date_gmt":"2017-12-17T19:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/?p=448"},"modified":"2017-12-17T19:16:22","modified_gmt":"2017-12-17T19:16:22","slug":"rudolph-caught-on-trail-camera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/?p=448","title":{"rendered":"Rudolph caught on trail camera"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=text-align:left;><\/div><p><strong>Rudolph caught on trail camera by Christmas lights on edge of Exmoor,\u00a0<\/strong>then poses for the houseowner to take photos, before raiding their bird feeders!<\/p>\n<p>Having followed one particular magnificent Exmoor stag for several years, which had taken to visiting various gardens on the edge of town, I set up several remote wildlife cameras to get footage of him across the seasons.\u00a0 Coming up to Christmas I had rather a pleasant surprise when finding I had captured footage of him coming to view the Christmas lights.<a href=\"http:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-450 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl-1024x575.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl-768x431.jpg 768w, https:\/\/whydidthedeercrosstheroad.langbeinwildlife.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/CedarAdj125jl-624x350.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The owners of the house also spotted him looking in through their windows, and he even posed for some photos when the lady of the house \u00a0quietly went out to see him.\u00a0 (see video below)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YjeXqeWfrhI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nLater on in the above video \u201cRudolph\u201d is seen attempting and succeeding at carefully dislodging a bird feeder with his antler tips and then eating the contents.<\/p>\n<p>This is a trick which I had also filmed him perfecting earlier in the year here and in another garden.
